World famous superstar, George Michael, dies peacefully
George Michael, the British pop superstar died at his home in Goring, England, on Sunday. He was 53.
Michael’s manager, Michael Lippman, said that the cause of death was heart failure.
In a statement released by Michael’s publicist, it was stated, “It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period. The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this stage.”
The police, however, did not indicate any suspicion of a foul play, they said that the death was “unexplained but not suspicious”
Michael, with his tailored good looks and an easy stage manner, started his career with ‘WHAM!’ in the early 1980s. He started his solo career shortly before ‘WHAM!’ split. His mega-hit “Careless Whisper,” was a seamless evolution.
Michael was an exceptional artist and also a strong supporter for the LGBTQ community. He was someone whom the gay community followed when the society was not so liberal and accepting towards them.
“I have lost a beloved friend — the kindest, most generous soul and a brilliant artist,” Elton John wrote on Instagram.
So sorry to hear about George Michael's passing. Brilliant icon. "Kissing a Fool" one of my all time favs. Strength & light to his family.
