Tamannaah slams director Suraaj for lewd remarks made for the actresses
South Indian actress Tamannaah Bhatia, criticised director Suraaj for the sexist remarks that he has made for the heroines and for objectifying them in Tamil filmdom. She has demanded an apology from the director.
During an interview, for his latest film ‘Kaththi Sandai,’ director Suraaj was asked how he managed to make Tamannaah and other heroines look glamorous in his films. He replied that heroines, in the films, are for wearing revealing dresses.
He said, “If the costume designer comes to me with the heroine’s clothes covering up to the knee, I would strictly order them to shorten the length. I don’t mind even if my heroine is not happy or comfortable, but I insist and get it done. This is because audiences pay money to see the heroines in such clothes.”
He continued, “Let heroines show their acting abilities in television serials. When it comes to commercial films, they are paid only to provide the required sizzle to the money paying audiences.”
When the clip went viral, Tamannaah was hurt and upset. She took to Twitter to share her views and commented that she was “hurt and angered by the comments made by director Suraaj”.
She expressed her displeasure!
Suraaj’s lewd statement has invited the ire of several female actors, including Nayanthara, who criticized and condemned the director for making such revolting comments.
